Press Release

Spring 2009 Faculty Primary Election Results

NOTE: The General (run off) Election will take place online
March 25-April 7, 2009 via Employee Link.

The Committee on Elections met on March 6, 2009 and is pleased to announce the results of the Spring 2009 General Faculty Primary Election. A total of 240 ballots (representing 8.5% of the voting faculty) were received. The results are below.

At that meeting, the Committee also reviewed nominating petitions for the General Election (runoff election) for the two unsubscribed seats on the Committee on Committees and for six unsubscribed Faculty Senate-at-Large seats as per our announcement of February 16, 2009. Only four petitions were received for the six Senator-at-Large seats; therefore, we declare Dr. Charles M Higgins, College of Engineering, Dr. Kelly A Reynolds, Zuckerman College of Public Health, Dr. Timothy Ward Secomb, College of Medicine, and Dr. Susan E Wilson-Sanders, Non-College, elected as Faculty Senators-at-Large for a two-year term, 6/09-05/11.

We received no petitions for the two seats on the Committee on Committees.

And finally, the runoff for two seats on the Strategic Planning and Budget Advisory Committee between the top four candidates will appear on the ballot for the General Election which will take place online March 25-April 7, 2009.

We respectfully thank our colleagues for their interest and patience.  Questions may be directed to us at the Faculty Center e-mail address in the above letterhead. Thank you for your attention and involvement.
